1. Explain how the church in Antioch ( in Assyria) started any why it became a significant church

Introducing the Lesson
The empowerment of the Holy Spirit is important for whatever we do, especially our witness. As Pentecostal believers, we need the Holy Spirit to work through us. This week’s lesson will help us understand the Spirit’s power that is available to us.

Commentary and Application
1. The Antioch Church Founded
A. Antioch Evangelised. Acts 11:19-21
           Stephen’s stoning began a time of great persecution for these believers ( Acts 8:1-3). Persecution is horrible, but God sometimes uses persecution to fulfill his plan.
QUESTION: What are some positive benefits that come out of persecution?
         Jesus had instructed his followers not to remain in Jerusalem but to preach the gospel throughout the world. The believers, However enjoyed  fellowship and teaching from God’s word in Jerusalem (Acts 2:42-47).
